Netflix dominates UK SVOD usage (The Media Leader)
More than 20 million homes in the UK are now subscribed to a subscription video-on-demand service. Netflix alone counts for 17.1 million, beating all other streaming platforms operating in the region. Amazon Prime follows with 13.7 million subscribers, and Disney+ with 7.6 million. The number of UK homes on Netflix’s ad tier has grown by almost 10% from Q1.
Fox nears sellout of Super Bowl ads (Variety)
Fox, which is due to broadcast the 2025 Super Bowl on 9th February, has reportedly sold out all but a handful of slots of commercial inventory. One buyer predicted that Fox could sign up all its sponsors by September. In comparison, CBS – which aired this year’s game – hadn’t declared ad space to be sold out until November of last year.
UK entertainment and media market to hit $155 Billion by 2028 (Variety)
According to a forecast by PwC, the UK’s entertainment and media market is on track to become the largest in Europe by 2025, set to surpass £100bn this year. Streaming services and cinema are set to play a pivotal role.
