Another week of headaches for Google began with reports that media agencies are losing faith in the company, with Adalytics’ recent report raising transparency concerns about YouTube ads. The company later began its defence against the US Department of Justice, as court proceedings began for a landmark antitrust case.

In streaming, Netflix revealed it had reappointed Susan Rice to its board of directors, describing the former White House adviser’s expertise as “invaluable”. Meanwhile, the Indonesian government announced plans to ban social commerce, stating it undermines the country’s retail sector.
