On the keynote stage at Google Cloud Next on Tuesday, Google Cloud and WPP announced a partnership which will involve integrating Google’s Gemini generative AI models with WPP’s AI-powered marketing operating system. WPP will use the tech titan’s AI to enhance their marketing efforts and facilitate continuous, adaptive optimisation. The advertising group will be able to create brand and product-specific content and predict content effectiveness, among other benefits. The inaugural phase of their collaboration will focus on enhancing creativity with WPP Open Creative Studio, smarter content optimisation, AI narration and hyper-realistic product representation.
Google also announced a range of updates to Google Cloud services at their Cloud Next event. The updates include changes to its AI infrastructure, models, and platform, as well as its Workspace and cybersecurity tools. Details regarding their first Arm-based CPU (central processing unit) were revealed. Google plans to offer the CPU, named Axion, to business customers via its Cloud services later this year. As competition among the top players in the AI landscape intensifies, these chips will help the tech titan to challenge Microsoft and Amazon in the AI race.
In the video landscape, Vevo is bringing shoppable ad formats to its CTV portfolio. Through a partnership with KERV Interactive, the global music video network will offer advertisers new AI capabilities including dynamic second-screen technology, such as bespoke QR codes. These new capabilities will be available to advertisers across the Vevo TV app, 20 linear free ad-supported streaming channels, as well as 35 distribution partners.
