on 17th Sep 2024 inEquativ, the leading global independent ad platform, announces the appointment of Jonathan Haines as the new managing director for the UK and Northern Europe. Previously the head of enterprise sales for curation at Equativ, Haines has been with the company since October 2023 and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role: across digital media, technology, business development, and publishing.
Haines' extensive background includes roles at Haymarket, where he held a number of sales and publishing-related roles, and Yahoo, where he served various agency, client, and commercial partnership leadership positions. More recently, he has been leading the development of relationships with executives and client leaders at global media agencies.
His responsibilities in his new role will include setting the strategic direction for Equativ's UK and Northern European divisions to ensure the company's continued success and growth within the region. Haines succeeds Pierce Cook-Anderson, who held the role of country manager since 2019 and then managing director for the UK and Northern Europe since January 2022.
"I'm very proud and excited to be taking over this role at Equativ at such an exciting time for the business,” said Jonathan Haines, managing director, UK and Northern Europe at Equativ. "We’re seeing our technology have such a positive impact for customers, with our curation platform, Equativ Buyer Connect, helping buyers adapt to the changing identity landscape and improve their advertising performance. I'm determined to keep building on this success so we can continue to support our partners in today’s privacy-first era, and I’m so excited to have the Sharethrough team onboard to help us achieve this.”
Equativ merged with leading independent omnichannel ad exchange Sharethrough in June 2024. The move established one of the largest global ad marketplaces, empowering advertisers, media owners, and technology partners to optimise programmatic value and scale. With more than 720 employees across 18 countries and a combined net recurring revenue of over USD$200m (£151.4m), the unified entity provides advertisers and media owners with an independent vertically-integrated alternative to walled gardens.
"Jonathan's proven track record of developing strategic client- and agency-led commercial partnerships that drive growth and deliver innovation, along with his deep experience of publishing, digital media and sales, makes him the perfect fit for this position," said Emir Teffaha - EVP EMEA. "His determination, passion, and talent for strategic thinking will help Equativ continue to deliver better efficiency and addressability for buyers, while helping publishers maximise the value of their inventory."
