The tables turned for OpenAI this week, as it accused Chinese AI company DeepSeek of a “potential breach of intellectual property”. It claims that DeepSeek used its AI models to train its own open-source competitor using a technique known as ‘distillation’.
In publishing, Sky News announced plans to overhaul its newsroom in favour of producing more paid content to protect its future against the decline of linear TV. By the end of the decade, It wants to increase its premium paid content journalism from the current 30% output to 70%.
In the social media landscape, Meta began testing ads on Threads. So far, it’s only working with brands in the US and Japan, with ads appearing for a small percentage of users.
