On today’s news digest we look at fines on the horizon for Apple and Meta, and Barb unifying its CFlight and Advanced Campaign Hub. Plus, don’t forget to have your say in this year’s All In Census, which will contribute to shaping the industry’s talent action plan.

Apple and Meta Set to Face EU Fines

Apple and Meta are set to face fines over breaching legislation from Europe’s Digital Markets Act, people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters. Fines handed out for breaches of the act can climb as high as 10% of a company’s global annual sales, although the sources said that a final decision regarding the size of the fines has not yet been made. A decision is expected in April, but the situation could still change.

Barb to Unify CFlight and Advanced Campaign Hub

UK TV measurement body Barb has announced that it will be unifying its pre-campaign planning tool Advanced Campaign Hub and post-campaign evaluation service CFlight under one interface. It has appointed media data solutions business RSMB to carry out the unification. Additionally, Barb is introducing several upgrades to CFlight, including expanding coverage of VOD services, enabling users to analyse performance by sales house, and allowing users to view VOD-only campaigns. Users will also be able to run customised reports with data visualisation, among other updates.

Have Your Say in the All In Census

The 2025 All In Census – led by the Advertising Association, IPA, ISBA, and Kantar – is now live, with the aim of giving all industry members the opportunity to have their voice heard. Every individual working in the UK advertising and marketing services is encouraged to participate in the survey, which can be found here. All responses are anonymous. The aggregated data will help shape the industry’s talent action plan, which consists of a series of eight actions aimed at building a workplace where everyone feels they belong, as well as boosting the recruitment and retention of the best talent.
