The Stack: Major Developments in Ad Tech

This has been a busy week, from safer online spaces to secret tech battles and industry shake-ups. Also, in today’s MadTech Daily, we dive into major acquisitions at Omnicom, the world’s first AI generated newspaper edition, and Google Search being charged for breaking EU rules.

On online platforms, Reddit has introduced a new feature which allows users to block specific advertisers from appearing on their feed for a year. However, Roku appears to be moving in the opposite direction,  with customers complaining about ads.

Meanwhile, in the tech world, Apple’s encrypted data case against the UK government has begun in secret. Elsewhere, Alden newspapers criticised OpenAI and Google for advocating looser AI copyright restrictions.

Finally, as a sign of renewed momentum in the M&A landscape, Adform is reportedly considering a sale, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans.
