Meta’s ad tracking business could be facing further investigation from the EU. The region’s privacy laws limit how long people’s data can be used for targeted advertising, which will affect Meta, as its ad tracking business model relies on vast amounts of data which builds profiles of individuals.
X to Venture Into CTV (X)
X has announced it will soon be arriving to the big screen with a dedicated TV app for videos uploaded to the social network. In a post on X, CEO Linda Yaccarino wrote: “Soon we’ll bring real-time, engaging content to your smart TVs with the X TV App.”
TikTok pulls feature from Lite app in EU over addiction concerns (TechCrunch)
TikTok has suspended TikTok Lite in the EU – an app which rewards users for spending time on TikTok – after the European Commission opened an investigation into the app. The European Commissions is concerned over the app’s addictive design which could pose a mental health risk for young people.
